Our Goal:

To raise funds for the most urgent needs in our community, particularly youth, through

Community-based benefit-concert production.

By bringing in world-class acts, guaranteed to sell out every show, we use the funds generated, to support our child and youth services.

Our Vision:

We are a broad based group of non-profit, a-political and non sectarian citizens .

We facilitate the evolution of consciousness, healing and education within the community.

By creating events and seminars we are fostering awareness of the unity of all people.

We resonate with the Spirit of Powell River as a global gathering place.

We envision Powell River's continued transformation into a thriving sustainable community.

Our citizens are vigorously engaged in the arts, attracting participants and audiences from around the world.

Revenue generated by our events will be used to support child community services.

While the

Moody Blues Benefit Concert

as one of the means toward the goal is still on the horizon, we are presently shifting the emphasis to:

a) first to get the infra-structure into place, to invite any concert performancer, whom the share-holders of Blue Healer want to approach.

b) communicate clearly that the primary goal is the improvement of the young children's and family's situation, and our willingness to assist through our fund raising engine

c)As the infra-structure is evolving, the web site will soon include on-line functions to vote and participate more actively in the direction the society will take.

Specific goal for the first concert:

To raise funds for the "Family Place", our early- childhood and parent-support center, which has been subjected to severe funding cuts.
"Family Place" assists parents and children in need with innovative programs, counselling and a drop in center.

How:

We are presently communicating with Moody Blue’s booking agent, and with Sarah Mclaughlan's Nettwerks management.

We received a cost estimate to hire the band and produce the show.

Production revenue are raised through community participation in this project:
The goal and the means of this idea is now being published, largely by you:
Forwarding this site to other interested friends is a start.
Also there will be posters, news releases, radio promo etc.

People inspired to participate may contribute a returnable $100 to establish the financial base of $200,000 to produce these and subsequent shows.

The $100 contribution can be either be used towards tickets or, if you want to remain a voting member, stay in the Trust-fund to produce further shows. .

Production funds will be collected in a Trust Fund.

Contributions are posted on this site.

Once a workable budget is reached, Blue Healer will be in a position to make an offer to the artists to play our town.

The offer usually needs to be supported with a 25% deposit, taken out of the trust fund.

Once the offer is accepted, the artist will be booked.

One possible venue is the arena, with 3,000 seats, or -even better-, we go outdoors :

We are considering Timberlane Park, on a community-built stage.

I am consulting with city council to use the park , see in News

That venue is considerably larger, (7,000), and tickets become more economical.

Ticket prices could then start at $60.

Projected return after all production expenses: $50,000+ for the "Family Place" goal

The community is then the producer of its own benefit concert.

It is our baby!

You are making it happen.

We are creating the proverbial golden goose.

The concerts will be promoted here, on Vancouver Island, and on Sechelt Peninsula,
through all available media: radio, posters, TV blurbs on our community effort, email supporters, etc.

All individuals and businesses are encouraged to contribute towards the goal with whatever resources they wish to make available in their generosity and vision.

When:

Now, for it is the only time known in Eternity.

Why:

The children and families who are currently affected by the budget cuts to the Family Place are our brothers and sisters.

We love them.

They are our neighbours.

Family Place is worthy of our support.

The community takes ownership of both cultural as well as spiritual content.

Besides, concerts are fun and a solid economic engine for our town.

Where:

In Powell River.

Exact venue to be either chosen or created,

either in town or within the Regional District (outdoor venue)

About Blue Healer:

It is being set up as a non-profit organisation.

There will be two paid positions, a director and an assistant, both part-time.

Their function is to deal with all logistics, efficiently coordinate volunteers,

and the manage the resources entrusted.

They are to be fully accountable to the board and to the community.

The website to facilitate community involvement is in process.

The website contains an "In Trust" page displaying up-to-date state

of the funds held in trust,

complete with names, and amount contributed.

This will ensure maximum transparency.

I am posting your comments and concerns in the FAQ page .

I encourage you to remember the power in each of us.

There is no question that, if you dismiss this idea,

there will be zero consequences:

Then there will be no show, no community based production society, and no benefit for the children we want to support through this ongoing concert production engine .

However, if you share our vision, pledge by emailing Blue Healer.

The ball is in your court.

This is an exercise in Faith ,Trust and Vision.

Namaste,

Jürgen Koppen

Someone out there is yearning for your Return to Forever:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you "not" to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are born to make manifest the glory of God That is within us.

It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
